Accsoon Unveils SeeMo 4K for Android – Initial Overview
At NAB 2025, Accsoon revealed the latest iteration of their 4K HDMI video capture terminal – the SeeMo 4K for Android. This new version means that Android users can now join iOS users in transforming their phones and tablets into smart monitoring devices using SeeMo. How does this new device work, and what sets it apart from the original iOS version for iPhones and iPads? Nino from CineD visited Accsoon’s booth to explore the details.
For context, Accsoon entered the smart monitoring market in 2022 with the launch of the original SeeMo HDMI adapter. This compact device allowed iOS devices to receive and use HDMI signals directly from a camera, turning iPhones and iPads into camera or director’s monitors. Accsoon later introduced a Pro version, adding SDI support, followed by a 4K model presented in Las Vegas last year. Now, Android users can finally enjoy the benefits of SeeMo as well.
Accsoon SeeMo 4K: now for Android users
Functionally, the new SeeMo 4K for Android is quite similar to its predecessors. It receives the HDMI signal from your camera, converts it, and then sends it via USB-C ports to your phone or tablet. Just like the iOS version, the Android version of SeeMo 4K also charges your device, allows you to record footage directly on your phone, and lets you stream the video via WiFi or a mobile network.
Accsoon Unveils SeeMo 4K for Android – Initial Overview
Nissy Cai from Accsoon explains that the SeeMo 4K will perform optimally when used with Android devices released in the past three years, as these devices have better processing capabilities for 4K. However, this is not a strict limitation; older phones can still receive the signal and be used as HD monitors.
Data and monitoring
Unlike the Accsoon SeeMo 4K for iOS, the Android version does not include an additional SD card slot for offloading footage. As Nissy explains in the video, the decision was made because not many Android devices would be compatible with it. However, as previously mentioned, you can still record the video directly to your phone’s memory.
Regarding the monitoring solution, the company’s app, Accsoon SEE, is also available on Android and offers a full range of features. It includes focus assist, zebras, histogram, false color, and all the other essential tools you’d expect from an on-camera monitor.
Pricing and availability
The Accsoon SeeMo 4K for Android is expected to begin shipping within the next 1-2 months. While the company has not yet confirmed the price, Nissy from Accsoon mentioned that it should be priced under $150. For reference, the SeeMo 4K adapter for iOS is currently available for $179 (reduced to $143 on B&H), while the first HD version is priced at $149 (or less during sales). Since it’s generally more affordable to buy an Android device with a decent display compared to an iPhone, this new SeeMo 4K for Android could serve as an excellent budget-friendly monitoring solution, especially if you have an older smartphone or tablet available.
