ProFilm: The drone industry has taken a major leap forward with the introduction of the DJI Avata 360 Drone, a groundbreaking FPV drone that combines immersive 360° capture, 8K video, and next-generation O4+ transmission technology. Designed for filmmakers, content creators, and professional drone operators, this new release marks DJI’s first true entry into the 360-degree aerial video market.

In this SEO-optimized article, we explore everything you need to know about the DJI Avata 360, including its 8K60 video capabilities, O4+ transmission system, features, specs, and real-world use cases.

🚀 What Is the DJI Avata 360?

The DJI Avata 360 is an advanced FPV (First-Person View) drone that merges traditional drone cinematography with full 360-degree video capture. Unlike standard drones that shoot in a fixed direction, this drone captures everything around it simultaneously, allowing creators to reframe shots after filming.

This innovation gives content creators unprecedented flexibility—perfect for YouTube, TikTok, VR, and cinematic productions.

🎥 8K60 360° Video – A New Standard

One of the biggest highlights is its ability to record:

• 8K resolution at 60fps in full 360°
• Up to 120MP panoramic still images
• Dual 1/1.1-inch 64MP sensors for high dynamic range and clarity (Tom’s Guide)

The drone uses dual fisheye lenses, each capturing a wide field of view and stitching them into seamless 360° footage. This results in ultra-sharp immersive video with no visible stitching lines (Tom’s Guide).

👉 Why this matters for your business (Profilm):

• You can shoot once and reframe multiple angles later
• Ideal for events, photobooth activations, and social media content
• Reduces the need for multiple cameras

📡 O4+ Transmission – Long Range & Ultra-Stable Signal

The DJI Avata 360 features the latest O4+ video transmission system, offering:

• 1080p live feed at 60fps
• Up to 20 km transmission range
• Strong anti-interference performance in urban areas (DroneXL.co)

This is one of DJI’s most advanced transmission systems, ensuring low latency and stable control, even in complex environments.

👉 Practical advantage:

• Perfect for live monitoring during events
• Reliable for crowded locations (malls, weddings, activations)

🧠 Intelligent Features & Flight Performance

The Avata 360 isn’t just about video—it’s packed with smart features:

• Omnidirectional obstacle avoidance + LiDAR support (DJI Official)
• ActiveTrack 360 & intelligent subject tracking (News.com.au)
• Virtual gimbal & reframing tools in post-production (T3)
• Integrated propeller guards for safety (DJI Store)
• Flight time up to ~23 minutes (redsharknews.com)

These features make it suitable for both:

• Beginners (safe, automated flight)
• Professionals (advanced cinematic control)

🎮 Dual Control Modes – FPV + Traditional Flight

The DJI Avata 360 supports multiple control options:

• FPV mode with goggles & motion controller (immersive flying)
• Standard drone control with remote controllers (RC 2, RC-N3)

This hybrid approach allows:

• Cinematic FPV shots
• Stable commercial footage

👉 Huge benefit:
You can use it for both creative filmmaking and commercial jobs.

🔄 Dual Shooting Modes (360° + Single Lens)

Another powerful feature:

• 360° Mode → Full immersive capture
• Single Lens Mode → Traditional 4K/60fps drone footage (DJI Official)

This makes the Avata 360 two drones in one.

💾 Storage, Build & Design

• Built-in 42GB internal storage (redsharknews.com)
• Weight: ~455g (T3)
• Replaceable lens system (important for rentals) (redsharknews.com)
• Wi-Fi 6 fast file transfer

👉 For your rental business:

• Durable design + replaceable parts = lower maintenance risk

💰 Price & Market Position

• Starting price: around $549 (drone only) (Tom’s Guide)
